A History and Mission to be proud of:
This mission of Bethlen Communities is to provide a healthy and nurturing living environment for individuals, with particular emphasis on those individuals with special needs due to age or infirmity.
1921: Old Park Hotel rededicated as Bethlen Home, an orphanage for Hungarian children.
1930s: Orphanage moves to new location in Ligonier while elder care began in original home.
1950s-1970s: New wings added to historic Bethlen Home for the Aged in 1951, 1962 and 1974.
1979: Orphanage closes; Over next three decades, Bethlen Communities begins to develop.
Today: Offers Independent Living, Personal Care, Short Term Rehab, Alzheimer’s & Long Term Care, Home Health Care, In-Home Companion Care, and Graceful Aging Wellness Center

Since 1921, Bethlen Communities has been providing health services in the Ligonier Valley. The Kalassay Society ensures continued expansion of these services to meet the ever-changing needs of people of all ages.
By accepting this invitation you will become part of a special group of community leaders who care about the wellbeing of others, especially older adults, and who appreciate the programs and services that Bethlen Communities offers.
Your help is needed. As an informal association of people who provide leadership through financial support, the Kalassay Society cultivates the strength and growth of Bethlen’s vital ministry by identifying caring people who wish to help.
HOW DOES YOUR GIFT HELP?
As part of the annual fund, Kalassay Society gifts provide critical financial aid for:
- Individuals who cannot afford services.
- Capital equipment and repairs.
- New programs and services.

HOW CAN YOU JOIN?
Membership begins with an annual gift of $100. Please note that other levels are available for those wishing and able to do more to help fulfill Bethlen Communities’ mission.
